“The sand does not hurry. That is why I still walk.”
Synopsis
For three seasons we followed Sabri, the last shepherd of a valley the sand is swallowing. As wells dry and neighbours leave for the city, he keeps walking a route his grandfather drew in 1961 — a map of a country that no longer exists.
Behind the lens
Shot across four seasons with a two-person crew. No interviews to camera in the first month — only walking, until Sabri forgot we were there.
